Exam pattern: written Exam pattern for the Junior engineer exam is as follows:-
Written examination will consist of two phases-phase I & phase-II.
Phase I multiple choice objective type question 100 carries. There would be a negative marking of 25%.
Phase-II written test that of conventional (subjective).
Phase-I and phase-II carries 270 brands and 300 brands respectively.
The duration of phase I and phase II will be 120 minutes and 150 minutes respectively.
There will also be an interview after written test.
Exam Syllabus: Exam Syllabus for Junior Engineer (civil) written exam is given below:-
General English: the syllabus of General English would ask of English to the level of student card or 10th include.
General Intelligence: the syllabus for General Intelligence & reasoning would ask of type include both verbal and non-verbal. The test may ask about analogies, agreements, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, contain. decision making ‘ visual memory, discrimination, observation, reasoning, verbal and relationship concept, arithmetical figure classification number, arithmetic series, etc. The trial will also involve questions that are designed to test the candidate ability to abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetic calculations and other analytic functions to deal with.
General awareness: questions will be aimed at testing the candidate, the General awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and such matters of daily observations and experience in their scientific aspect as would be expected from an educated person. The trial will also cover questions related to India and its neighbouring countries specialty related to the history, culture, geography, economic scene, General Polity and scientific research etc. These questions will such that they do not require a special study of each discipline.
